Riverside High Rise: Detroit Waterfront District

This design proposes to transform an “urban void” into a place of interest and celebration of the beauty of Detroit. The space provides room to live, work, and engage in city life, allowing individuals and the greater community of Detroit to flourish.

Placemaking Concept

The design includes a concept for a building shell, the surrounding public plaza, and apartment layouts within the high rise. The Riverside High Rise concept takes into account the big picture of creating a new iconic piece of the Detroit skyline, as well as utilizing a human-centered approach down to the details of space planning.
