The Game of LIFE: Reimagined

In the spring of 2021, I took a class called Form + Function, where I had the opportunity to redesign a table top game of my choice, picking three major alterations (thematic, literal, or a combination) for the redesign. After “testing” the original 2002 edition of the game by playing it with my roommate, I mapped out observations, gaps, and opportunities within the experience. I decided to focus on the three following alterations:
Changing the currency system to carry a more holistic value system for quality of life rather than simply assigning value through money.
Adding multiple options for retirement (similarly to how there are multiple options for careers and houses earlier in the game) to have a more exciting and satisfying ending.
In order to implement the currency system and the new retirement setup onto the cards and the board, I would need to recreate the existing illustrations to match the style of the new components I would be adding.
